At Sita cultural center,  we have our heart set on promoting our city and make our fellow guests discover  every nook and cranny of Pondicherry.

Indeed, many travellers passing by the city do explore just a tiny bit and miss a lot. That is why we have decided to come up with a guided cycle ride which covers the entire city center in just 2 hours !

Sita cultural center innovated and was the first ever to propose back in 2014 in collaboration with My vintage bicyclette, Pondicherry guided cycle tours.

The best Pondicherry’s experience

From the colourful villas of the Muslim area to the Sri Aurobindo ashram quarters, from the Goubert market to the sea side and its French touch, explore Pondicherry in the early morning for a safe and fresh ride.

Ride your cycle, get an helmet and let’s go ! Thanks to our vintage design cycles, you won’t limit yourself in the sea coast and the few streets nearby but would be able to explore the entire city center.

With our well versed guide, in small friendly groups, you will get to know anecdotes that you won’t find anywhere else. You will discover the daily life of Pondy localites and Manisha or Darshana will   give you some historic bits of our iconic city as well as some French words made into Tamil vocabulary and the other way around.

Furthermore, the rhythm will definitely make you enjoy Pondicherry’s headline ‘Give time a break!’. Indeed, we provide many pit stops for you to enjoy the sight views, take pictures and listen carefully to the guide’s explanations.

What will you do?

You will meet and gather at Sita cultural center and choose your cycle. We have plenty of options and colors to choose from!

After being introduced with your guide you will start your trip which will cover the entire city center:

• quaint alleys of the Muslim quarters
• vivid streets of the Indian part of the town
• Goubert main Pondicherry market
• quiet streets in the ashram area
• Kuruchikuppam fishermen village
• and last but not least the French heritage part of the town!

Things to know

We start and end our tour directly at Sita cultural center. T

We have a wide choice of cycles to suit all size and gender. Children below 5 years old can enjoy the trip on a back baby seat. From 8 years old, children can accompany their parents as we have kids cycle as well.

Obviously, you must know how to ride a cycle to enjoy our Cycle trips. Still, rhythm is slow and the streets we take are quiet and shady. If you are still not sure, we advise you to choose the morning slot as the traffic is less and the air is still fresh and crisp; which makes our tour really enjoyable.
